Table settings for Holi:
This is a fancy table setting, keeping in mind some of the Holi colours. The lace and motifs on the place mats and runner are colourful and pops out on white.  The dinnerware is white with coloured bowls. Each bowl has a pouch with candies and dry fruits and a tag labelled with "HAPPY HOLI" message.

For the Flower arrangements, I have used Gerbera daisies, fragrant Geranium leaves and Mums.

Easy Sewing Projects:

Table Runner:

Materials:
  • 2.5 meter fabric ( This fabric will be enough for the runner, 4 Place Mats and six napkin rings)
  • 5.5 meter lace (9 meters for both runner and table place mats)
  • Number of motifs according to choice
  • 4 small hangings for the edges.
Instructions:
  • Cut the front and the back fabric such that it can hang at least three inches out of the edge of the table.
  • I took 77 inches as the length and 15 inches as the width.
  • On the front fabric stitch the motifs and lace. You can first pin the lace on it's border leaving half an inch from the borders.
  • Start pinning the lace from the middle of one of the 15 inches side.
  • Then machine stitch bigger or back stitch with hand .
  • For the corners you need to take a bit extra lace up the corner at 90 degree angle and then fold it at an angle like below.

  •  Pin the motifs where ever you want on the runner and then back stitch by hand
  • Once this is done, sandwich front and back facing right sides together and machine stitch the sides.
  • Do not machine stitch the last 6 inches of the short 15 inch side.
  • Now turn the right side out and hem the last 6 inches.
  • Stitch the fancy hangings to the corners.
